Primary School Custom GRP Water Tank Installation

South Lanarkshire Council

South Lanarkshire co. council headquarters are in Hamilton employing over 16,000 employees. The district areas include rural and upland market towns such as Lanark, Strathaven and Carluke, the urban burghs of Rutherglen, Cambuslang, and East Kilbride which is Scotland’s first new town.

South Lanarkshire Co. Council contacted Nicholson Plastics to book a free site visit from our technical team.

The local council required a site visit to a local primary school as a new boosted water supply system was required.

The Primary Schools existing water supply was over capacity and needed to be reduced considerably. Due to the footprint of the booster set, Nicholson Plastics had to figure out how to fit a tank into the plant room and meet the minimum capacity of water required within the small foot print available.

The advantages of having a boosted water supply in a school allows the water to run on a lower capacity thus giving the water supply a greater turnover whilst keeping water temperatures down to a minimum.

With Nicholson Plastics expertise and knowledge we designed a custom made one-piece tank that would fit perfectly into the minimal foot print available.

The tank measured 1650x650x1560mm with a holding a capacity of 1,125 Litres nominal capacity.

The new water tank dimensions made the tank look like a small tower and fitted perfectly beside the booster set. This was an additional factor in configuring the new tank, not to compromise health and safety by intruding on a walkway which required to be kept clear at all times.
