Nicholson Plastics was established in 1968 as a family business in the town of Lanark, Scotland. Lanark is a small town in the centre of Scotland, in the county town of Lanarkshire. It is situated between Glasgow and Edinburgh with frequent rail and bus services to the major cities. The company currently employs people across all disciplines from sales and admin to general operatives who manage the manufacture of all of our GRP products. Today, the company operates from Lanark and Croydon, supplying water tanks to UK and internally through our export division.

General Operative

General Operative – Stores

Location: Lanark, Scotland 

Job Purpose: Production of GRP Products.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing moulds for manufacture, including repairs and maintenance;
  • Applying release agents to the mould surface prior to manufacture;
  • Cutting and measuring foam insulation and steelwork;
  • Using spray machines to apply gelcoat & fiberglass to moulds;
  • Applying glass matting and resin to moulds, hand layup;
  • Consolidation of fiberglass & resin with rollers ensuring a quality finish;
  • Setting up of wooden & GRP moulds to manufacture drawings;
  • Releasing of moulded products from mould once cured;
  • Working from manufacturing drawings to mark, cut, drill and fit ancillary items;
  • Maintaining equipment and reporting any faults;
  • Quality checks, measuring product thickness and undertaking water tests;
  • Completing documentation for traceability and quality assurance;
  • Locating and packaging goods for collection;
  • Working within Health and Safety guidelines;
  • Any other duties as assigned, to support the Company.

Aftersales Administrator

Location: Lanark, Scotland supporting the UK business
Reports to: National Aftersales Manager
Closing Date: 12th July 2019

Job Purpose:
The Aftersales Administrator will be expected to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment carrying out administration duties as required to support the office. The focus for this role is on the administration of purchase orders and paperwork within the Aftersales department. The role requires a pro-active and fast-pace individual who can handle multiple tasks at any one time.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Issuing installation crew paperwork, including drawings, purchase orders;
• Ordering cold water storage tanks from our suppliers:
• Working with the drawing team to send out completed drawings to customers & chasing customer approval;
• Collating Operating and Maintenance manuals for issue to clients;
• Actioning the completion certificates for all completed jobs;
• General administration duties, including; data input, responding to emails, filing;
• Assisting the Aftersales team with daily tasks and providing cover within the department during periods of absence;
• Any other duties as assigned by the management team, to ensure the needs of the business are met;
Qualifications/Skills
• Ability to prioritise and organise workload;
• Good working knowledge of MS Office and good general IT skills;
• Strong team working skills with ability to work on own when required;
• Organised and efficient;
• Excellent attention to detail;
• Pro-active in approach and can-do attitude;
• Excellent communication and written skills;
• Excellent timekeeping.
