Glen Mhor Hotel and Distillery
Brief Background
The Client, Glen Mhor Hotel and Distillery, required a sectional combined tank and pump station. This is the first distillery to be built in Inverness for over 130 year so it was a privilege to be involved in such a historic project for the area. We were approached by META consulting engineers and tasked to come up with a tank and pump station solution that would provide water to the distillery and tap room, as well as the provision to supply the site wide potable water to numerous apartments and hotels.
The Solution
Due to the tank being fed from a private water supply in the form of a borehole, the dry room had to accommodate filtration plant and pump sets, as well as a custom access hatch to allow the safe removal of the borehole pump from underground for servicing and maintenance
The Result
The Nicholson Plastics team provided the client with a combined tank and pump station sized at 4x4x2m, with the dry and wet side both being sized at 4x2x2m. We provided a single door entry point into the dry room and the wet side provided a nominal capacity of 16,000 litres.
